This guide covers the Mi (Xiaomi) air purifier in Nepal: which model you can buy today, what it costs, how well it cleans a room, what its filter needs, and how it compares with a Blueair at a similar price. For the other brands sold in Nepal, see our air purifier brands compared guide.
Many Nepali buyers know Xiaomi from their phone, router or TV, so a Mi air purifier is often the first one they look at. It is a fair choice for a small room on a tight budget. The questions to settle before you pay are room size, filter supply and warranty.
Which Mi air purifier is sold in Nepal?
The model on Nepali shelves in October 2026 is the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite (model AC-M17-SC). It launched in Nepal at Rs 27,999, and one Kathmandu shop listed it at an offer price of Rs 22,999 the same month.
The older Mi Air Purifier 3 launched in Nepal in November 2021 at Rs 23,499 and was later listed at Rs 20,999. It is now hard to find new, so check the model name on the box if a shop offers a “Mi purifier” without one.
| Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite | Published figure |
|---|---|
| Price seen in Nepal | Rs 22,999 offer, Rs 27,999 launch price |
| CADR (particles) | 360 m³/h |
| Room size | 270 to 460 sq ft |
| Power at top speed | 33 W |
| Noise | Up to 61 dB at top speed |
| Filter | One cylinder: pre-filter, True HEPA layer and activated carbon |
| Smart features | PM2.5 display, auto mode, Xiaomi Home app |
How a Mi air purifier cleans the air
A fan pulls room air in through a round filter on all sides and blows cleaner air out of the top. The filter has three layers. The outer mesh catches hair and large dust. The True HEPA layer catches fine dust, PM2.5, pollen and pet dander. The carbon layer takes up some smells from cooking and smoke.
Because air enters all round, the purifier works best with some open floor around it. Pushed into a corner or behind a curtain, it pulls in less air and cleans the room more slowly. Our guide on where to put an air purifier shows the best spots.
A laser sensor reads the PM2.5 level and auto mode raises the fan when the reading climbs, for example after cooking or sweeping. The sensor only measures the air. The fan and filter do the cleaning, so the CADR is still the number to judge it by.
What size of room a Mi air purifier suits
Xiaomi rates the 4 Lite at 360 m³/h for rooms up to 460 sq ft. That is a good output for its price. In practice it suits a bedroom, a study or a small living room.
Two things change that in a Nepali home. A room with a high ceiling holds more air than the floor area suggests. A room facing a dusty road, or one where windows open often, brings in new dust all day. In both cases pick a purifier rated for a room bigger than yours. Our CADR and room size guide shows how to work it out.
Mi air purifier filters in Nepal
The 4 Lite uses a single cylinder filter (part M17-FLP-GL) that holds all three layers. Retailers abroad give its life as 6 to 12 months; in a dusty Kathmandu flat, plan for the shorter end. When the filter is full, the purifier still runs but moves less clean air, so changing it on time matters as much as buying the right machine.
We found no Nepali shop listing a genuine 4 Lite filter with a price in October 2026. Many filters sold online for Xiaomi purifiers are copies; they may fit, but their HEPA layer is not tested. Before you buy the purifier, ask the shop three things:
- the price of the next filter and its part number,
- whether it is a genuine Xiaomi filter,
- whether it is in stock today, not “on order”.
What a Mi air purifier costs to run
Running cost is electricity plus filters. At 33 W on top speed for 8 hours a day, the 4 Lite uses about 8 units a month. At the NEA rate of Rs 9.50 a unit, that is about Rs 75 a month. The filter is the bigger cost, and without a Nepal filter price we cannot give a monthly figure. Ask for it before you buy.
For comparison, a Blue 411 costs about Rs 690 a month to run 8 hours a day, filter included, because we sell its genuine filter at Rs 4,000. Our air purifier electricity cost guide has the working for each model.
Where Mi air purifiers do well, and where to be careful
Good points:
- High CADR for the price: 360 m³/h for around Rs 23,000.
- PM2.5 display and app control, handy if you already use Xiaomi Home.
- Compact round body that fits a bedroom corner with space around it.
Be careful with:
- Noise. Up to 61 dB at top speed is loud for a bedroom; you will likely run it slower at night.
- Filter supply. Genuine filters are not openly listed in Nepal, and copies are common.
- Warranty. Ask which company handles it in Nepal and whether the filter is covered.
- Larger rooms. For a big living room, one 4 Lite will run at high speed for long periods.
Mi vs Blueair at a similar price

If you are looking at a Mi air purifier, these are the Blueair models in the same price band or one step up.
| Xiaomi 4 Lite | Blueair Blue 411 | Blueair Blue 3610 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price in Nepal | Rs 22,999 to Rs 27,999 | Rs 22,000 | Rs 50,000 |
| CADR | 360 m³/h (particles) | 180 m³/h (smoke) | 600 m³/h (smoke) |
| Room size | 270 to 460 sq ft | 161 sq ft | 549 sq ft |
| Power at top speed | 33 W | 10 W | 38 W |
| Noise | Up to 61 dB | 17 to 46 dB | 23 to 56 dB |
| Genuine filter in Nepal | Not listed | Rs 4,000, in stock | Rs 12,500, in stock |
| Warranty | Ask the seller | 1 year, handled in Nepal | 1 year, handled in Nepal |
The Xiaomi gives more airflow than a Blue 411 for about the same money. The Blue 411 is built for a small bedroom instead: it is much quieter (17 dB on its lowest speed), uses a third of the power, and its filter is in stock in Nepal at a known price. For a living room, the Blue 3610 delivers far more clean air than the 4 Lite at almost the same power use.
Both Blueair models use HEPASilent filtration, which captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 micron, and come from Blueair of Sweden, sold in more than 60 countries. You can buy them with delivery across Nepal and WhatsApp help after you buy.
Which to choose

- Bedroom or study on the lowest budget, app wanted: Xiaomi 4 Lite, once the shop confirms filter price and warranty.

FAQs
What is the Mi air purifier price in Nepal?
The Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite launched in Nepal at Rs 27,999 and was listed at an offer price of Rs 22,999 in October 2026. Prices change with offers, so check the shop’s current price.
Is the Mi air purifier good for Kathmandu dust?
Its True HEPA layer catches fine dust and PM2.5, and 360 m³/h is a strong output for a bedroom or study. In a dusty flat the filter fills faster, so make sure you can buy a genuine replacement in Nepal. For heavy dust, see our air purifier for dust page.
How often does a Mi air purifier filter need changing?
Retailers give 6 to 12 months for the 4 Lite filter. With long running hours and road dust, expect the shorter end. The app and the filter light tell you when it is due.
Is the Mi air purifier quiet enough for a bedroom?
At low speed it is fine for most people. At top speed it reaches up to 61 dB, which is loud for sleep. If quiet nights matter most, the Blue 411 runs from 17 dB.
Does Clean Air Nepal sell Mi air purifiers or filters?
No. We sell genuine Blueair purifiers and filters only, with the warranty handled in Nepal. For a Mi filter, ask the shop that sold you the purifier.
