Every purifier on this page uses Blueair's HEPASilent filtration. Blueair says it captures at least 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 micron. That is finer than the 0.3 micron size the usual HEPA test uses.
Dust, pollen and smoke particles that a basic filter lets through are caught down to 0.1 micron.
The Blue Pure 411 runs at 17 dB on its lowest speed, a faint hum from across the room.
The Blue Pure 411 uses 10 W at its top speed, about the same as one LED bulb.
Room sizes follow CADR, the clean air delivery rate tested to AHAM standards, so the number on the box is a real one.
HEPASilent is Blueair's own design, not a standard "true HEPA" filter. It combines electrostatic and mechanical filtration, so the filter can be less dense. Two charged steel pre-filters catch the coarse dust first, then HEPASilent takes the fine particles. The filter lasts 6 to 12 months.

HEPASilent Ultra, Blueair's upgrade. Blueair says it gives 50% more clean air, 55% less energy and 10% lower noise than true HEPA. GermShield works on the filter even on standby.

The same HEPASilent Ultra in the big 7700 Series body. Its display shows PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 readings.

Choose a model rated for at least your room's area in sq ft. A purifier that is too small has to run on high to keep up, as the US EPA explains. Our CADR and room size guide shows how to work it out.
CADR in m³/h tells you how much clean air the purifier delivers every hour. A higher CADR cleans the same room faster. Look for AHAM-tested figures, such as those on the AHAM Verifide list.
