Genuinely quiet at night. We run it on the bedroom setting and forget it's there until the app shows it working harder during a bad-AQI evening.

Real customer reviews
Bought this after my daughter's allergist recommended a HEPA purifier for her room. Covers the room and the hallway outside it comfortably.
Ordered ahead of the winter smog and it's been worth every rupee. The app notification when AQI spikes outside is the feature I didn't know I needed.
Does exactly what it says. Only reason it's not five stars is delivery took a day longer than promised, unit itself is excellent.
We ordered two for our office floor after staff kept complaining about the AC dust. Noticeably fresher air within a day, and the VAT invoice process was painless.
Was worried about coverage since our living room is fairly open-plan, but it keeps up fine even on the medium setting.

What the Blueair Classic 280i gives you

Cleans a whole bedroom or living room in 12.5 minutes
The air in a room up to 279 sq ft is cleaned from top to bottom every 12.5 minutes, so dust does not get time to settle. That is 4.8 full air changes an hour. CADR is the clean air it makes each hour: 340 m³/h for dust and pollen, and 306 m³/h for smoke.
- Rooms up to 279 sq ft
- 4.8 air changes an hour

Quiet enough to leave on all night
On low it is about as quiet as a library, so you can sleep or study next to it. Even on the highest speed it is no louder than a floor fan. Night mode and light brightness can be set in the app.
- 32 dB(A) on low
- 56 dB(A) on the highest speed

Costs about as much as a ceiling fan to run
Full speed uses about the same power as a ceiling fan. Run for 8 hours a day, the electricity is about Rs 182 a month, or Rs 6 a day. On low it is only about Rs 46 a month. With the filter included, the total is about Rs 1,482 a month.
- 80 W on full speed, 20 W on low
- Rs 1,482 a month with the filter

Catches fine dust without a loud fan
HEPASilent gives the particles an electric charge, then traps them in the filter. Blueair says this lets the filter be less dense than a standard HEPA filter, so the fan needs less force. That means a quieter purifier that uses less power.
- Electric charge plus a filter
- Less force needed, so less noise and power

Sets its own speed, and you can control it from your phone
Built-in sensors read the particles in your air. In Auto mode the fan speeds up when the air gets dirty and slows down when it is clean, so you do not have to touch it. The Blueair app and Alexa let you change settings, switch on child lock and schedule night mode from anywhere in the house.
- Auto mode with PM2.5 sensor
- Wi-Fi, Blueair app and Alexa

One filter, changed twice a year
The filter slides in through a panel at the back with one click. A light tells you when it is time, about every 6 months. The genuine filter is Rs 7,800 and we keep it in stock. The unit is only 21 cm deep, so it fits beside a bed or a sofa.
- Replacement filter Rs 7,800, in stock
- 3-year warranty, handled in Nepal
What it costs to run each month
Worked out at the highest fan speed, 8 hours a day. On Auto and the lower speeds it costs less.
Electricity
Rs 182
80 W x 8 hours x 30 days = 19.2 units, at the NEA household rate of Rs 9.50 a unit.
Filter
Rs 1,300
Genuine filter Rs 7,800 divided over 6 months. Many filters last longer.
Total
Rs 1,482
A month, in total. The filter is most of it, so the purifier itself is cheap to run.
