Genuinely quiet at night. We run it on the bedroom setting and forget it's there until the app shows it working harder during a bad-AQI evening.

Real customer reviews
Bought this after my daughter's allergist recommended a HEPA purifier for her room. Covers the room and the hallway outside it comfortably.
Ordered ahead of the winter smog and it's been worth every rupee. The app notification when AQI spikes outside is the feature I didn't know I needed.
Does exactly what it says. Only reason it's not five stars is delivery took a day longer than promised, unit itself is excellent.
We ordered two for our office floor after staff kept complaining about the AC dust. Noticeably fresher air within a day, and the VAT invoice process was painless.
Was worried about coverage since our living room is fairly open-plan, but it keeps up fine even on the medium setting.

What the Blueair Cabin P1 Car Air Purifier gives you

Cleans the air in a small car in under 6 minutes
Dust and smoke from the vehicles around you come in through the vents. The Cabin P1 pulls air in and pushes it out all around the unit, so it filters all the air in a small car about 4.8 times an hour. A full change takes under 6 minutes. CADR, the clean air it makes each hour, is 32 m³/h for smoke.
- Under 6 minutes for a sedan or hatchback
- 4.8 air changes an hour

Turn the knob and drive, with nothing to set up
The P1 has three fan speeds, chosen on the control knob that plugs into the car socket. It has no sensor, no Auto mode and no app, so there is nothing to pair or learn. Pick a speed and leave it. If you want Auto mode and the app, the Cabin P2i adds both.
- Three speeds on the knob
- No app and no Auto mode

Quiet enough to talk over on low
On the lowest speed Blueair calls it whisper quiet. On the highest speed it is about as loud as rainfall. It sits behind a headrest, so you will hear the high speed more than the low one. Use low on a clear road and turn it up when the traffic gets thick.
- 35 dB(A) on low
- 55 dB(A) on the highest speed

Runs from the car socket on about the power of a phone charger
The knob plugs into the 12 V socket and a 4.5 m cable runs back to the unit. It uses 5.5 W on the highest speed, so it puts almost no load on the car. A USB port on the plug charges your phone. Blueair advises a socket that switches off with the ignition.
- 5.5 W on the highest speed
- 4.5 m cable and a USB port on the plug

Catches fine dust and takes out odours in a small filter
HEPASilent gives particles an electric charge, then traps them in the filter, so the fan can stay quiet. The Cabin P1 uses a Particle+Carbon filter. Blueair says it removes PM2.5, dust, pollen and tyre wear dust, and the carbon layer takes out odours and VOC gases such as formaldehyde.
- Particle+Carbon filter
- PM2.5, dust, pollen and formaldehyde, per Blueair

Straps behind a headrest and weighs 1.4 kg
A strap holds the P1 behind a back-seat headrest, away from the front airbag. It is 20.3 cm square and 9.2 cm tall, small enough for a hatchback. Change the filter about every 6 months of normal driving. A genuine filter is Rs 4,000, and the P1 has a 2-year warranty.
- 20.3 x 20.3 x 9.2 cm
- Filter about every 6 months

Which cars is the Cabin P1 for?
Blueair designs the Cabin range for small and medium cars. In a sedan or hatchback it cleans all the air in under 6 minutes. In an SUV or minivan a full air change takes longer, about 8 to 11 minutes by Blueair’s figures for the range. Keep the windows closed and use the recirculation button for the best result.
Will it drain my car battery?
It uses only 5.5 W on the highest speed. Blueair recommends a 12 V socket that switches off with the ignition, so it never runs when the car is parked. If your car’s socket stays live, unplug the knob when you leave.
How loud is it in the car?
35 dB(A) on low, which Blueair calls whisper quiet. 55 dB(A) on high, about as loud as rainfall. The unit sits behind a headrest, so you hear the high speed more. You choose one of three speeds on the knob.
How often do I change the filter, and what does it cost?
About every 6 months. Blueair bases that on 2.5 hours of driving a day, 6 days a week. A genuine Cabin P1 filter is Rs 4,000.
What is the difference between the Cabin P1 and the Cabin P2i?
Same body, same size, same filter. The Cabin P2i adds a laser particle sensor, Auto mode and the Bluetooth app, and is rated at 38 m³/h CADR on 7 W. The P1 is Rs 26,500, rated at 32 m³/h on 5.5 W, and you set its three speeds on the knob yourself.
